Every woman remembers the first time she spotted a wrinkle on her face! It’s the dreaded moment when you realized aging happens to everyone…including you. Rather than freak out, I encourage clients to take a deep breath and look at their options. Given there is SO much out there on anti aging, I thought I’d expose some common myths that I hear from my customers surrounding wrinkles. Knowledge is power, so get your facts straight!
Myth #1
There is myth out there that tanning beds can give you a tan without damaging your skin as harshly as sunbathing outside. The truth is, that the tanning beds are not safe no matter what they claim to be. The rays produced from the machine are Ultra Violet rays and they are more harmful than the UVA rays. BOTH lead to wrinkles. Period.
Myth #2
A myth I commonly run into is that people think they only need to wear sunscreen on obvious days like beach days, ball games, and summer days by the pool. The truth is that ultra violet rays can penetrate through windows in your car, house and office. You need to wear it every day. Even in winter!!
Myth # 3
Another common belief is that you only need to use moisturizer during the day. If you are serious about fighting wrinkles, don’t neglect the nighttime! Bedtime is the perfect time to apply a deep moisturizer and serum that can’t be worn during the day because they interfere with makeup. Dermalogica Pure Night ($75) powerfully brightens skin, restores cells, and fights wrinkles while you sleep! Read more
