What Is Blue Light Protection Skin Care?

Light waves play an important role in our skin’s health. While we want to avoid UV light rays, blue light rays are also associated with skin damage. That’s why new skincare is introduced. Let’s try to know more about it.

What Is Blue Light Protection Skin Care?

Blue light has the shortest wavelength in the spectrum of visible light. It is closer to UV radiation and is said to have similar effects. One of the important sources of blue light is the sun. Also, artificial sources are fluorescent lights, LED lights, and digital gadgets like television, tablet, laptops, and mobiles. They increase the exposure to blue radiation that promotes collagen damage and causes premature aging. This exposure also exacerbates the melasma. Blue light exposure, like UV rays, increases oxidative stress. That’s why anti blue light skin care is here to save you.

What Is Blue Light Protection Skin Care?

Anti Blue light skincare works by physically blocking the blue light exposure. Ingredients like zinc oxide, titanium oxide, iron oxide, polyphenols, vitamin C and E, etc., are known for such benefits. These ingredients are commonly found in sunscreens because they have the tendency to block and reflect the UV and blue light rays. They also act as antioxidants, fight the free radicals generated by blue lights, and slow down aging.
