Possible Reactions from Fillers and Covid Vaccine Combined

Because of Covid, a lot of adjustments had to be made and same is the case with cosmetic industry. There are some reports that say people who get filler injections within 6 months of getting jabbed, show signs of swelling on the areas that have been filled.

This is because the vaccine can pump up your immune system and cause inflammation in the treated areas. But do know that this does not mean that you are infected or allergic.

Theory suggests that the interval between a Covid vaccine and filler injection should be at least 6 months. However, based on the experience of some doctors, swelling can still occur even if you have done your filler injections years ago. This is because even if fillers are expected to last for 6 months to 1 year, they can linger a lot longer than that.

If you just had your fillers injected and would really like to get vaccinated already, do not let the filler stop you. Besides, only a small portion out of thousands was seen to manifest side effects. If you really can’t wait anymore, consult with your doctor to discuss your options.

If you experience some swelling, contact your injector immediately. So that she could prescribe you anti-histamines or steroids. He/she might also give you some home care instructions that can help with the swelling.
