Parabens are the group of preservatives used in many cosmetics products, serums, lotions, and creams. They are added to inhibit the growth of microorganism in the products to prolong their shelf-life. When you check the ingredient in products, they are named as meth paraben, propylparaben, and butylparaben.
As we have been told that parabens are harmful to our skin soare you worried about it? Researches revealed that parabens are absorbed through our skin, and they stay in our body fluids. They are also secreted in breast milk, urine and serums. They are also found in the breast tissues of patients diagnosed with breast cancer. 
The researcher further said that paraben can mimic the estrogen hormone in our body. They can compete with estrogen to bind with receptor. This activity can lead to breast cancers.
Wait—there is no need to be panic. European Scientific Committee on Consumer Products told that individual paraben in the concentration of 0.4% and the mixture of parabens in 0.8% are considered safe to use in cosmetics and skin products.
