What do you know about Dermaplaning?

We have many types of Physical Exfoliation and one of them is Dermaplaning. A procedure where a scalpel is used to remove the superficial skin cells from our face including the facial hair. It is one of the most famous treatments worldwide because of numerous benefits. Dermaplaning just takes a couple of minutes without downtime.

After the treatment, your skin will feel softer, look more even and ready to absorb your skincare products faster. This will give more even appearance to your make-up as well.

Do I need to have any precautions before the process of Dermaplaning?

Avoid all chemical exfoliation at least one week before the treatment. Do not apply products like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or retinoids. These can make your skin sensitive and you can have a bad reaction to the treatment. Avoid them also for at least a week after the treatment.

Can everybody have the treatment?

Not everybody can have it done. Dermaplaning is not for you if you have breakouts, rosacea, or have an active lesion on the skin. You need to wait until your skin is fully healed.

Is it painful?

Not painful at all. It is just like shaving your face. The treatment itself takes just a couple of minutes and is a safe technique as long as it is done by a professional. Remember that they are using a scalpel to remove your dead skin cells and your facial hair.

How often can I do Dermaplaning?

Remember the skin renews itself every 28 days, so this is the time you need to wait if you want to repeat the treatment.

Any side effects?

Nothing, just make sure you are using SFP after the treatment. Because your skin is going to be exposed to sunlight, SPF will help you reduce the chances of pigmentation.
