Tips on how to take care of your cuticles

Cuticles are one of the main reasons we go to the salon and fix our nails. On occasions, they remove them completely, or they trim it a bit, but did you know that cuticles are necessary to protect us against infections?

What is the cuticle function?

Their main function is to protect your nails against the bacteria that can grow on that area of the nail.

Is it safe to cut the cuticles?

Ideally, it would be best if you didn’t cut your cuticle. Instead, you can push it back and trim the excess. Most salons nowadays cut the cuticle, but this is still a topic that most professionals are debating.

How to take care of your cuticles?

First of all, you must focus on your cuticle hydration, and you can do it by applying oil or hand cream to the area often or soaking your hands in warm water and soap for 5-10 mins to soften the cuticle.

How to remove the cuticle safely?

If you choose to remove them, you must soak your hands for 10 minutes or take a warm bath. Using a cuticle remover push the cuticle back and then cut the remaining, but never cut it all the way. Cutting all the way can increase the chances of cutting your finger skin and have redness, pain and even infections.
