This Skincare Expert Shares Her DIY Vegan-Friendly Face Masks To Make At Home

Vegan beauty can now be whipped in your own kitchen

Whipping up a good face mask is a beauty ritual saved for long afternoons or when your skin needs some loving. However, it isn’t very often that vegans can feel that way. With most kitchen ingredients containing animal derivatives of some kind, quickly mixing together a DIY vegan face mask isn’t all that easy. Or is it? For professional advice, we went to the expert.

1. Orange And Rose Face Mask

Unpeel 2-3 oranges and place the skins under direct sunlight for 10-12 hours or until shriveled. The same can also be done quicker in an oven or microwave if you aren’t experiencing a sunny climate. The end result should be orange peels that are dry and free of moisture. Grind them until they are powder with small-sized particles. Combine 1 tablespoon of orange peel powder in a bowl with 1 teaspoon of rose water. Adjust proportions according to how thick or thin you prefer. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes and wash off with room temperature water.

2. Banana, Turmeric And Mint vegan Face Mask

Unpeel a small banana and use a fork to mash it in a bowl. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric and a palm full of torn mint leaves to it. Mix thoroughly into a thick paste. Wash your hands well and use it to apply the mask on your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash off with water.
