Both shower gel and body wash seem the same, but picking one out of them is confusing. Let’s discuss how both are different from each other.
The primary difference between a shower gel and a body wash is its consistency and texture. A shower gel usually has a gel-like thickness. On the other hand, body wash has a flowy character, like liquid soap. But that’s not all you should know about them. Because although both are used for the same purpose, i.e., to cleanse off dirt, sweat, and excess sebum from the skin, they play their role with a slight difference. This is because of different compositions. Shower gels are harsher than body washes. Shower gels tend to remove any type of dirt more effectively, along with natural oils. Although this suits oily and acne-prone skin as they tend to dry out our skin. Hence they are usually not a great choice if you have dry or sensitive skin, particularly in winters. On the other hand, body washes are creamy and provide moisturization along with cleansing.
Choose wisely between shower gel and body wash based on your skin type and weather conditions. In either case, it is better to apply a suitable body moisturizer.
