A sensitive skin is a thin or a fine-textured skin. It reacts quickly to both heat and cold; therefore, it sunburns and windburns easily. It is commonly dry, delicate and prone to allergic reactions. There are two types of skin that fall into the sensitive skin category. One is susceptible to break outs, and the other is easily irritated.
Sensitive skin is typically hallmarked by a fine skin texture and a thin upper layer of skin. Sensitive skin usually has a reduced capacity for dealing with environmental factors and harsh skin care products.
