Hydrogen peroxide for blackheads? You bet! Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful antiseptic and bleaching agent that when used on the skin can get rid of a number of things, including blackheads!
There are a few different ways to get rid of blackheads, and hydrogen peroxide is one I use very frequently. It’s easy to do, very cheap, and it actually works! Blackheads are a type of acne that is caused when the oil that is clogged in your pores gets oxidized. That is what gives the blackheads the dark brown color. Hydrogen peroxide works great because it removes the oxidization and therefore therefore removes blackheads. So here is how to use hydrogen peroxide to get rid of blackheads.
How to Use Hydrogen Peroxide For Blackheads
- Mild antiseptic
- Prevents infection
- Helps remove dead skin cells
- Disinfects
- Cleanses
- Kill bacteria
- Treats wounds
- Prevents the formation of blackheads, pimples, and whiteheads
- Cleanses the skin and exfoliates
- Helps to lighten skin, particularly dark spots, sun spots, age spots

Step 1: Cleanse
Start by washing your face with a very mild cleanser to remove any dirt, makeup, and impurities. Use a homemade facial cleanser that’s great for sensitive skin and all other skin types. Homemade cleansers are better for the skin because they don’t contain any chemicals, dyes, harsh ingredients, or perfumes. Make sure to wash your skin using slow, circular motions.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Use a homemade exfoliator to get rid of dead skin cells as well as to open up your pores. First, start by rinsing your face with very warm water (but not too hot – you don’t want to burn your skin!). This will open up your pores. Then, exfoliate your skin in gentle, circular motions. Rinse off with very cold water. This will close up the pores. Pat dry.
Step 3: Hydrogen Peroxide
Use a cotton ball to apply 3% hydrogen peroxide. Dab the cotton ball all over your face, concentrating on blackhead prone areas such as the nose, chin, and forehead. Please be aware that if you have sensitive skin, you should not use this method, or, use it sparingly! Hydrogen peroxide may be too harsh for those with method.
