Types of Liner
There are lots of eyeliner formulas to choose from. The four I recommend trying are pencils, liquid liners, eyeliner gels, or using a shadow. Choose what’s right for you based on the look you are going for and the application you are most comfortable pulling off.
How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner
The key to liquid eyeliner is a steady hand! It sounds silly, but I always make sure I’ve had breakfast before sitting down to this one. Blinc makes a great liquid forumla ($24).
- Starting from the middle of the lash line, draw a line outward in one big sweep.
- A trick I currently love is lining my eye with a gel liner before applying my liquid liner. This allows my liquid liner to go on smoother and requires less precision (always a good thing!)
- For a natural liquid eyeliner look, start with a completely bare eye and dot liquid liner into the spaces between the lashes. You won’t get a bold line, but your lashes will appear super thick at the root.
How to Apply a Classic Look
Give your eyes a natural “pop” with this classic look. The trick on this one is having a light hand during application. La Bella Donna Eye Pencils ($22) work great! Read more
