Toners are astringents composed of specific active ingredients which deep clean your pores, maintains your skin’s pH balance and also shrink your pores. Although most toners are hydrating if you use an alcohol-based you can end up with a dry irritated skin. A face mist, on the other hand, contains nourishing oils and is essentially hydrating. It can also help lock in the moisture and keep the makeup in place, but it does nothing for your pores.
Skin Type
Oily skin and large pores go hand in hand. Toners help in deep cleaning the pores off excess oils, dust and pollution which settle in the enlarged pores. Although dry skinned people do need to clean their pores too from to time with a toner, hydration is the main concern.
