DIY LEMON SUGAR SCRUB

I’ve been searching for a gentle way to exfoliate.  Today I made a super simple scrub.  My skin is so smooth and soft right now.  I am so impressed and so excited!  This is a super simple and probably pretty obvious recipe so you’ve got to try it and tell me what you think!

I love what lemon does for the skin.  It brightens as well as exfoliates.  It’s wonderful for acne.  Pair that with a sugar and you get a really thorough exfoliation!  Coconut oil moisturizes and softens.  Plus it’s antibacterial which keeps things clean!

My recipe calls for fresh squeezed lemon.  This will mean that you won’t be able to store this for long.  With scrubs, I like to make them when I’m ready to use them.  They just don’t keep well and are much better fresh.  Mine harden and become unusable even though I’ve tweaked the proportions.

If you would like to keep yours for a while, nix the lemon juice and opt for lemon essential oil.  Also, I find that a thicker sugar works better in this scrub.  I used raw sugar, but you could use brown sugar instead.

This scrub is awesome for the whole body.  I was looking for an exfoliant for my face, but I ended up using this on my hands as well.  So super soft.  You’re just going to love it! Read more
