Caffeine And Its Ability to Reduce Cellulite

That lumpy dimpled flesh on your thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen is mainly caused by cellulite. Do you know Caffeine is considered to be effective for its treatment? Though many treatments, creams, and a lot of other never-ending treatments promise to reduce cellulite, the efficacy remains questionable. Do they really work, and why is it that almost in any cream, caffeine is the main ingredient?

What is cellulite and what causes it?

Cellulite is a very common condition in which the skin takes on a dimpled appearance due to fat deposits that collect under the skin. While the exact causes of cellulite are still unknown, the condition is believed to be caused by an interaction between the connective tissue layer and the layer of fat that lies beneath it.

According to a study by Neutrogena, 70 percent of women have cellulite. More women have it than men, because women have thinner skin, so it shows more clearly.

Do anti-cellulite creams actually work?

Caffeine has become a go-to treatment ingredient for dehydrating cells and making cellulite less visible. It has been found to dilate blood vessels which can temporarily tighten and tone tissues. The stimulant also boosts circulation and reduces water retention which can help smooth out bumpy cellulite on the body. So if it does actually affect the appearance you should keep applying them in the same manner all the time to retain the results, since its effect is temporary.

No scientific evidence:

There is no scientific proof that cellulite creams are effective in getting rid of cellulite or reducing its appearance permanently. Women who believe that they can eliminate cellulite through creams are likely to be disappointed.

There is a lack of medical data showing that the products can be absorbed well into the fat through the skin surface, to affect it sufficiently enough and cause the needed reduction.
