Benefits of Silymarin for Your Skin

Have you ever heard about silymarin?

You might wonder about this but it is an excellent additive to skincare products. Keep reading to know more about its benefits. Silymarin is a derivative of the milk thistle plant. The antioxidant in nature, it protects against UV radiation and environmental pollution: fights free radicals, and prevents cellular damage, giving you clearer and radiant skin.

Silymarin CF (ctto)

Benefits:

It is a wonderful ingredient for oily, acne-prone, and blemish-prone skin types. It is non-comedogenic and won’t clog your pores at all. Instead, it has oil-controlling properties and will reduce sebum production. It might not be effective for dry skin types because of its potentially drying effect.

What to Avoid?

It should not be combined with acids like AHAs and BHAs. That doesn’t mean you have to eliminate acids from your skincare routine. Just switch timings by using silymarin in the morning and acid in the evening.

How to Use?

Silymarin works great with hyaluronic acid, retinol, and sunscreens. If you want to layer up, use silymarin before moisturizer and top up with sunscreen. It is available in facial serums, creams, etc.

Note:

To be on the safe side and get all the benefits of this beauty ingredient, it is always better to consult your pharmacist about your skincare regime and must do a patch test before applying it to your face.
