A Guide to Choose a Setting Powders

Although powder foundations are rarely used, setting powders are very common. In fact, it is quite hyped these days. Please keep reading to know more about it.                        

Setting powders are powder products applied over cream or liquid foundations for a finishing and long-lasting coverage. However, there are different types of setting powders with slightly different purposes. If you are opting for a setting powder then consider your required result;  whether you want the setting of foundation, coverage, or less oily shine.

Loose powder:

They are available as loose powder in a jar. This powder provides skin-toned light coverage along with setting your foundation.

Translucent powder:

This powder does not contain any tint for skin tone. It is used for setting the foundation and providing the matte look by covering the oily or shiny look                               

Pressed powder:

This powder comes in the pressed form in a jar, and it is handier. However, it comes in several shades and is usually combined with a foundation for better coverage. 

Mineral powder:

This is a mineral-based powder that is claimed to be safer for our skin. It comes as a mixture of loose and pressed powder with some added tint to match skin tone. That’s why it provides light coverage along with setting the skin.
