Lighten dark patches with lemon
Dark underarms can be downright embarrassing especially when you’re wearing sleeveless tops and when taking those selfies. But dark patches don’t just happen to your arm pits. This discoloration may have been inherited especially if you have dark skin or it has also been associated with medical conditions like diabetes. But guess what? You can also get them from frequent shaving.
The good news is you can actually lighten them. The best part? You can easily make your own home remedy. You can also use it for other areas like your knees and elbows. Here’s how to get rid of dark underarms:
DIY Underarm Lightening Scrub
Ingredients:
- ½ cup baking soda
- ⅛ cup hydrogen peroxide
- ½ lemon juiced
Instructions:
- Pour the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a small glass bowl.
- Slowly pour the lemon juice until it forms into a thick paste.
- Apply on your underarms and rub gently.
- Let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Test on a small patch first.
Note: do not apply on broken skin or freshly shaved skin.
