We understand that it is hard to struggle with blackheads, and maybe you have them for years next to a scar that was caused because you forcefully wanted to extract it. There are proper ways to remove blackheads from your skin and in this article we are going to show you how!
What are blackheads?
Blackheads are small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles.
Blackheads usually form on the face, but they can also appear on the following body parts such as: the back, chest, neck, arms, and shoulders.
How are blackheads treated?
The clogged-up hair follicles causing the blackhead are healthier to be removed by a dermatologist or a particularly educated skin care specialist.
Using a specialized tool called a round loop extractor; the doctor uses pressure with the extractor after creating a small opening in the plug to remove the clog.
Over-the-counter (OTC) treatments:
Several acne drugs are available at pharmacies, grocery shops, and online without a prescription. These medicines are used topically and come in cream, gel, and pad forms. The medications include resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid among other components. They function by eradicating microorganisms, removing excess oil, and causing the skin to exfoliate dead skin cells.
Your doctor could advise using stronger prescription meds if over-the-counter therapy doesn’t help your acne. Vitamin A-containing medications prevent plugs from developing in hair follicles and stimulate a quicker turnover of skin cells. Tretinoin, tazarotene, or adapalene are some examples of these topical drugs.
During microdermabrasion, a doctor or skin care professional uses a special instrument that contains a rough surface to sand the top layers of your skin. Sanding the skin removes clogs that cause blackheads.
There are a lot of other treatments but the best one is to prevent them by washing regularly, using oil-free products, and using exfoliating scrubs along with masks!
