Rice water is not new to the DIY trend. It has a long history of usage in Asian women. Owing to its vitamins and mineral-rich composition, this water is known for its hair and skincare benefits. It contains amino acids, B & E vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Hence, rice water is believed to make your hair grow and add to its shine by making it silky and smooth.
To date, no solid scientific research has proved the role of rice water in growing hair. However, the supporters of this DIY believe that amino acids in this water help strengthen the hair follicles, making your hair smooth and strong. Also, inositol named carbohydrate, is known for repairing damaged hair, protecting it from further damage, and strengthen them.
A piece of research says that rice water does improve hair elasticity by reducing friction. Though, it is not directly related to hair growth but this helps in reducing hair fall, which in return helps in its growth.
